Perfect for keeping in shape July 20, 2008 D. Mech (Los Angeles, California United States) I used to train at Billy Blanks studio - but with gas prices as crazy as they are I don't want to make the 30 min drive anymore....so I bought this bag. I filled it with sand and then filled it with water on top of the sand. It barely moves...its perfect! Love it!
Great Bag July 11, 2008 Rick 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've had this bag for a few days, and the more I use it the more I like it. At first, I was a little disappointed because I thought it would tip....so I held back on my punches. I have it filled with water, and the base would lift off the ground just from my jabs. Now, that I'm used to it...I'm laying into it and I haven't knocked it over yet. In fact, I think it would be pretty difficult to knock it over with just the force of a punch or even a kick. That is, unless these blows became pushes where you hit the bag and kept pushing with your fist or foot instead of drawing them back as quickly as possible as fighters are trained to do. With water in the base, it does slide around the room some but if you rotate around the bag this is sort of countered. All in all, I'd rather have a heavy bag that hangs from the ceiling, but if this is not feasible, this bag is an excellent substitute. I'm certainly glad that I purchased it.
Takes a lot of punishment June 8, 2008 E. Knight 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
My daughter took Krav Maga (Israeli army-style hand-to-hand) and needed a punching bag to keep in shape and maintain training. It had to be indestructible for her (she is fierce & merciless), but I didn't want anything that had to be mounted to the ceiling or walls. The Century XXL Wavemaster is perfect. Her older sisters (one has taken Judo and the other is just plain mean), football friends, cousins - everybody likes giving it their best shot. It stays in place and takes a lot of punishment. Great product!
Great sparring bag! April 23, 2008 Minnie I began kickboxing class and wanted to be able to continue with the lesson at home, so I took a chance and purchased this sparring bag. I checked the internet and found this to be the best price for the same exact item, and no charge for shipping and handling. It arrived promptly and I was not disappointed. It is the same exact bags that we use at the karate center. The quality was excellent and set up was quick and easy. I did it by myself and did not need assistance from my sons or husband. It is a great bag and I love it. My husband has even began using it on his own.
This Bag is Great!!! March 4, 2008 Marques Williams 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I've had my freestanding bag for about 3 or 4 weeks now and I absolutely love it! You can punch, kick, and elbow this thing until you're out of breath. I put 250lbs of sand in the base and it is very sturdy (cheap too - sand is only about $4 per 50lb bag @ Lowes where I live). There is some minimal shifting if you stand in the same spot and pound away on it, but if you dance around the bag a bit and use some footwork - any movement cancels itself out from side to side (using this movement gives you a lot better workout anyways). I weigh just over 200lbs myself and I can lay into my punches and kicks with all my weight and power and it still holds strong. Delivery was quick and the packaging was appropriate. I would definitely recommend this bag to anyone - especially for use with martial arts and kickboxing training.
